I'm an Uncle / Jump

I am an uncle again! Well, I never stopped being one, but now I have two nephews! Rory was born on the 21st of November, and my sister once again continued her tradition of having kids on the same day as a cousin's birthday. Considering my birthday is the same as a great aunt of mine, I suppose that semi-unintentional habit runs in the family... I will post pictures once someone puts them on photobucket *cough alysa cough* or emails them to me *cough momanddad cough*. I hope my hints are subtle enough! ;)

On Saturday, Deanna too me to see Jump, a comic martial arts performance in Seoul. It was a very fun show! It was sort of "hosted" by an "old man" (with how good their make-up was, I would have thought he was actually very old if I saw him on the street), and before the show started he made his way down to a row and started to just walk through it, before just sitting down on someone's lap. The show was pretty funny too! It has even made its way to Broadway and to a theater in the UK. Deanna and I want to visit New York someday, so we are hoping we can get there while Jump is still showing so we can hear some of the jokes in English instead of Korean! Most of it though was either in small amounts of English, or words were not needed.

New Blog? Yep. Here's Why:

Welcome to my new blog! I was talking to my sister about my old blog, and though my plan that I discussed with her was to do this around when I get married in September, I am impatient and did it now. So what did I do? I created a new google email address and a new blog. I also took my Oregon State Blog and fiddled around with the settings to get it attached to my gmail account as well, though it took some work to figure out what exactly to do as it was not as simple as adding an email-- I had to change google accounts to do it.

So yes, this means I have a new email. Email my old email to get it, and I'll send it to you; I don't want to post it online because I'm trying to avoid at least some of the spam I am bound to receive. This also means that thewonderboy.com will sadly no longer exist. I didn't really want to finally do this, but I realized several things:
  • Yahoo! and Geocities (the hosts of my website) have been absolutely horrendous lately in their reliability in updating both the website and the blog. I have not been able to log in to my blog on multiple occasions.
  • The blog I had before was not user friendly-- I could not include pictures except for one on top of the post, and links to another website had to be posted in full, not like I have in the above link to my sports blog. There were other lesser-but-still-annoying problems with the blog.
  • Ever since I got the actual blog, I have mostly stopped using my website except as a link to other things. Considering I can have links in this blog, $8.95 a month is a bit much for a website I never update.
So comparing those three points versus having to change emails, I decided it was well worth it. I will keep the old email and website for a short while to transition things, but it will go away soon. Also, the difficulties I had with my Yahoo! blog kept me from posting nearly as often as I would have otherwise... so Alysa, you can start checking my blog more than once every three weeks. Or at least when you do check, it will be updated more often anyways!
